This weapon originated from an early proposal within the High Mobility Melee Enhancement Project. The design objective was to augment close-combat burst capability through a mechanically triggered energy modulation system, thereby circumventing reliance on complex algorithmic control.
Field testing, however, revealed significant latency and overshoot during cylinder cycling, precipitating frequent momentary overload states in the energy core. Overall stability proved insufficient, and the system generated damaging recoil forces that compromised frame joint integrity.
The project was formally terminated upon conclusion of Phase One trials, with only a limited number of prototype units retained for further analytical study.
