41 Homecoming Voyage

She stares at the figure in the crimson waves. Familiar, and yet not. Decades carved out of her life float there, adrift in red.

Only the fragments of prisms strewn about and the tower still standing tall bear witness to the glory that once defined this place.

Done crying?

Save for the skittering of monsters and the bloodstains, the place is silent as a tomb.

That designation sequence doesn't exist at all...

The fog is cold, like the day... they left... for the 21st time...

..."Lucia"...

Tomorrow... the others and I are going on a long trip.

This cruel world offers them nothing. No victory. No answers...

They all left, one after another... Did the last hero fail too?

...I'm back.

Just... don't break your promise.

It is Lucia who opens the door.

Once again, she becomes her mother's child.

Like a front-runner who has long since forgotten the sound of footsteps behind her, turning to find she is no longer alone in the wind. She can't remember the last time she felt this happy.

At that very instant, alarms blare across every corner of F.O.S.

Either way, we'll all see each other again one day.

Back then, they had yet to set sail. Their joy knew no end in sight.

Since I said I'd only say it once, I had to come up with another way...

Only after leaving port and losing home does one understand what it means to go back home.

Just think of us as the scapegoats this story needs, alright?

I'm so afraid of how much I will miss you.

One day, beyond all the paths that pulled us apart, we will find our way back together.

All I have left is my life. It's the last thing I can freely choose for myself.

The universe showed no mercy for that unfulfilled promise, yet someone who cared enough pulled her back into this moment.

This path we set out on was always meant to be a long journey home.

But she doesn't need an answer anymore.
